About

During my freshman year at Virginia Tech, I was presented with an amazing opportunity. In my communication skills class, one of my future bosses, Tom, came to discuss a student videographer position that needed to be filled in the athletic department. It was definitely a step up from my job at the time as a cook at the dining hall, and best of all, the position came with a scholarship. I honestly did not expect to get the job, but I figured it was worth a shot. A few interviews later, I was offered the position. I had landed an amazing job that would pay the rest of my way through college. While my technical knowledge within the scope of video production was limited, I had an appetite for knowledge. Every day I had new questions. I would see something on TV or online and would wonder how to create it. After a few years of asking questions, on the job experience, and plenty of trial and error, I began creating some work that I can truly say I am proud of. All I could think about was improving on my last project. I began spending extra hours at work trying perfect my projects and expanding my knowledge. My superiors took notice to this, and began handing down more responsibility to me, which I was thrilled about. I was even being asked for advice by them from time to time.

During the winter of my senior year at Virginia Tech, I began freelancing. Through networking I was able to land contracts shooting workout videos, sports short films, music videos, PSAs, and even a video with Martin Sheen and Emilio Estevez.

Looking back on all of my experiences, I have found that none of my successes would have come to fruition without the drive to go above and beyond what was expected of me. As I dive head first into my next chapter of life I plan to bring with me the same drive and intensity that has brought me to where I am today.
